The Kitiki Ultrasonic Cleaner has been designed for cleaning jewellery, coins, glasses, shells, and other objects that once had a good finish. It consists of a base unit with an electronic ultrasonic generator, and a lift-out basket.
An ultrasonic cleaner has a fixed stationary chamber, part-filled with water and cleaner: no shot or grit. Electronically generated ultrasonic waves create minute bubbles which, during the low pressure part of each wave, grow until, during the high pressure part of the wave, they're compressed and implode. The energy released cleans the objects inside.
The base has a hinged lid, a plastic basket, an on button, and an off button. It measures 250mm x 170mm x 160mm, and weighs about 900gms. The 500ml stainless steel cleaning chamber will hold most small domestic valuables.
The CE-marked fully-enclosed 40kHz ultrasonic generator is rated at 230V 35W, so can use a regular mains socket. It comes with a 1.8 metre cable, ending in a UK 3-pin plug. Since the cleaner uses about the same power as a fridge bulb, and only needs to be on for three minutes, the cost of using it is almost nothing.

| THE KITIKI ULTRASONIC CLEANER: NOTES |
The Ultrasonic Cleaner will clean up finished jewellery and other objects, not put a shine on a rough surface. It won't clean off scratches, rust, silver-tarnish, or any corrosion that is chemically bonded: and it won't work on leather or wood.
The Ultrasonic Cleaner will also clean CDs, DVDs, reading glasses, sunglasses, eyepieces, dentures, shaver heads, toothbrushes, combs, and lots of things that have delicate surfaces, intricate shapes, or hidden parts.
The 40kHz sound waves are too high to hear. The cleaning action is at a microscopic level and won't damage anything. However, don't immerse watches unless they're 30m tested.
Using the cleaner is simple, so there's no manual. Half-fill the chamber with water, add a few drops of washing-up lquid and the things to be cleaned. Cose the lid, and let it run for 3 minutes. Experiment with the running time until you get the desired finish.
Using the basket for small things is optional, but it does absorb some of the energy. After cleaning, empty out the water and wipe the inside clean. Rinse the jewellery and dry it carefully with kitchen paper.
